forgetting infinity

…in 1989, i was a young man… i was a secretly crossdressing young man and a seriously dedicated thinker, reading Mary Daly’s ‘Wickedary’ at the time… Mary’s mind-expanding way of demystifying Patriarchal language had me all stirred up… moved to write these lyrics and sing this song, a song that foreshadows my continual transformation in life, steadily reaching Escape Velocity, heading simultaneously through the upper and lower reaches of Duality and emerging outside of sides…
no longer forgetting infinity. being me. being birdy.

forgetting infinity

i’m standing at the place where stories end
at the place where the ones who wonder wait
i’m here with all the others
living as thoughtlessly as the shade
cast by the monuments
who blindly rule

i’m really curious to know
what happens in the twilight
right beside the point
the one that they anoint
with divinity
forgetting infinity

where do we get a place to stop…
When do we have a chance to
let it drop?…

everybody’s lonesome
rushing past
nothing ever really seems to last
it doesn’t seem to matter anyway
that seems as common as the sunrise
of another day

so I’m standing at the place where stories end
at the place where the ones who wonder wait
I’m here with all the others
living as thoughtlessly as the shade
cast by the monuments
who blindly rule

i’m really curious to know
what happens in the twilight
right beside the point
the one that they anoint
with divinity
forgetting infinity

where do we get a place to stop
when do we have a chance to
let it drop

forgetting infinity
forgetting infinity
forgetting infinity
